Children in Need Special Event Friday 15 November, 7.00pm-late
Children’s Christmas Party (with magic show) Sunday 15 December, 3.00-5.00pm

Current Users
As an example of those who benefit from the availability of our hall, current users of the main hall are as follows (all are weekly during term time unless otherwise stated):
· Brownies / Rainbows / Guides
· Pencaitland Community Choir
· Acoustic music session (monthly)
· Karate Club
· Dance Club
· Bowling and Community Club Committee meetings (monthly)
· Bowling Section meetings (infrequent), which also use the lounge for catering
· AGMs for Bowling Section and Bowling and Community Club
· Bowling and Community Club Children’s Halloween and Christmas Parties
· Bowling and Community Club Hogmanay Ceilidh
· The club is also available for hire for parties, including birthdays and anniversaries, charity evenings and other fundraising events (for example for the local youth football club and the PTA), also weddings, funerals and commercial organisations looking for somewhere to hold an event, such as a sale.
Other recent users have included a youth sports organisation and Pencaitland Lecture Society. Yoga and Zumba classes have taken place from time to time. Notable one-off hires have included charity events, for Ukraine and MND
respectively, and a memorial tribute for the late Jock Taylor, Pencaitland’s World Sidecar Champion. Smaller groups have made use of the lounge as a meeting room. The main hall has recently been adopted as the Polling Station for local and national elections.
Facilities
The main hall can comfortably seat up to 85 people, with a current maximum capacity set at 125. The lounge area will seat 15-20 and can be configured as a meeting room. For larger events in the main hall, the lounge is often used for buffets
There is disabled access and a disabled toilet.
There is a kitchen area with a cooker, microwave, fridge, kettles, urns, crockery and utensils, and separate sink facilities for food and hand washing. This is suitable for preparation of teas and coffees and heating up food. It should be noted that the kitchen is not suited to large scale food preparation.
The hall has advanced audio-visual equipment with a 1080p full HD projector and screen, and a PA featuring a Mackie mixer and 4 x 1000 watt (2000 watt peak) Alto speakers, suitable for cinema, presentations, quizzes, discos and other music and entertainment events. Microphones and stands are available along with both Bluetooth and wired connections for users’ devices.
Fast broadband is provided to the club by Highland Broadband. At the time of writing only O2 and Vodafone (and 3rd party providers using those platforms) provide a reliable mobile network service within the club environs and we advise EE and 3 customers to take careful note of that.
Bar Area
The hall does not currently possess a license for the sale of alcohol, but there is a bar area available for users who wish to bring in their own suitably licensed bar. Glasses, a bar countertop and a tall fridge are available if required. There are plans to upgrade the bar in future and further details will be found on this site in due course.
The bar area is suitable for serving soft drinks, teas and coffees and nibbles.
